Recently our Human Services Department was criticized in the food assistance audit for not having a written policy concerning appropriate behavior in the event of a robbery attempt and procedures for reporting theft to law enforcement authorities. I would be very interested in seeing policies that other counties have concerning robbery and theft.

Routt County’s agreement with the local Extension Services Board requires “appropriate” levels of funding for administrative services for which funding has been two administrative positions. Routt County also funds 100 percent of the 4H Agent position and approximately 5 percent of the salaries for one Ag Agent and one Consumer and Family Science Agent. For those of you with Extension Services programs please provide of your County’s level of funding for administrative staff and any Extension Agents.
I would also like to know which Counties do not fund Extension Services.

Do any of the counties, agencies or municipalities have standard indirect cost recovery formulas, guidelines or policies they can share with Kit Carson County? We have a few departments that are heavily grant funded and the county currently receives little or no management and administration dollars from these grants, and still has to support the functions required. Does anyone have suggestions on how to implement a cost recovery model to help offset the effects to administration; specifically in areas of accounts payable, receivable and payroll?

Here in Archuleta County, it appears we’re going to get on the order of 3,000 tax protests. That’s out of about 20,000 notices sent out. Are any other counties experiencing such large volumes of protests? We’re looking for ideas on how to logistically handle that many protests at the BOE Hearings.
